How it works

Everything the inspector will ask for, solved before they arrive.

The order matters: there's no point training the team before knowing what's failing in your kitchen.

01

We schedule around your shift

We coordinate the visit at the time that works best for your operation, without interrupting service.

02

We audit on-site

We walk your kitchen as an inspector would. We document every finding with photos and the applicable regulation.

03

We deliver the plan

You receive a written report with every finding, how to correct it, and by when, ready to show the inspector.

What we check first

This is not our list. These are the violation numbers from Florida's official inspection form. The ones that appear over and over.

Conditions that trigger an immediate closure

Why this matters

An outbreak doesn't start with a headline. It starts with a cooler.

The figures below are the CDC's annual estimates for the United States. They aren't from a bad year, they're what happens every year.

What is an outbreak?

A foodborne illness outbreak happens when two or more people get the same illness after eating the same contaminated food. Two is enough. Most never make the news; they end with a call from the health department, a follow-up inspection, and sometimes a closure.

48,000,000

people get sick each year from contaminated food. One in six Americans.

128,000

are hospitalized each year.

3,000

die each year in the United States.

Salmonella

Non-typhoidal Salmonella is the deadliest foodborne germ and causes the most hospitalizations. Norovirus causes the most illnesses.

Before you open

Thinking about opening a food business?

In Florida, three agencies regulate food businesses and each one oversees different things. Knowing them before you open saves you fines, closures, and repeated paperwork.

FDACSFla. Stat. § 500 , Florida Food Safety Act

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services

Packaged, processed, and retail food sales.

Regulates the production, processing, storage, and sale of packaged or processed foods not consumed on-site. If your business manufactures, packages, or distributes food like jams, sauces, wholesale bakeries, butcher shops, or grocery stores, FDACS is your primary agency.

DOH / CHDFla. Stat. § 381 , Public Health

Florida Department of Health , County Health Departments

Assisted Living Facilities • Adult Day Care • Certain Group Care Facilities • Schools & Institutional Food Service

Florida Department of Health regulates food sanitation in certain institutional and residential facilities, including assisted living facilities, adult day care centers, qualifying group care facilities, schools, and other food service operations under DOH jurisdiction. Requirements may vary depending on the facility type, food service level, population served, and facility capacity. Applicable requirements may include Chapter 64E-11, F.A.C., food sanitation permitting, Certified Food Manager requirements, plan review, training, and inspection readiness.

DBPR / DHRFla. Stat. § 509 , Hospitality

Florida DBPR , Division of Hotels and Restaurants

Restaurants, hotels, and all food service establishments.

The DBPR Division of Hotels and Restaurants is the agency that most affects independent restaurants in Florida. It licenses, inspects, and sanctions all establishments where food is prepared and served to the public, from a family restaurant to a fast-food chain.
